Roberto T.
FINANCE MANAGER – Colombia
The joy of the long distance runner.
Being a passionate runner has taught Roberto some pretty important things about himself. He loves the internal energy running brings him.
“You start off with a small goal and over time, the goals keep getting bigger. Since I compete against myself, running has helped me to understand that with perseverance anything can be achieved, and I try to apply this to both my personal and professional life.”
Roberto’s drive and challenger mindset paid off during the global financial crisis of September 2008, which generated market collapses, a global recession and strong exchange rate volatility. “This demanded strong teamwork in order to quickly reorganize our strategies and tactics. The good news is that despite this very difficult year, we were able to overcome the crisis and achieve the objectives that we had determined.”
Even in times of a crisis, Roberto follows this philosophy: “Success is when opportunity and preparation come together.”
As he prepares for his biggest personal goal so far, the New York Marathon, all of his colleagues at Energizer are pulling for him and can’t wait to see him cross the finish line in Central Park.
