Anthony didn’t know it at the time, but a chance encounter with Cheri Hannon, our Director of Training & Organizational Development, would take him down a trail he hadn’t planned on taking.
An avid snowboarder, Anthony was open to taking risks. In the course of a few hours, Cheri convinced Anthony, who was an accounting major at the University of Connecticut, that perhaps marketing was a better fit. Much to the surprise of his parents, Anthony turned down a full-time accounting position for a part-time internship at Energizer.
Cheri was right about Anthony – in a year Anthony was hired as an Assistant Brand Manager and two years later was promoted to Associate Brand Manager for Schick Hydro®. Now he’s responsible for budgeting, forecasting, preparing the annual marketing plan and working with outside agencies in both traditional and emerging media.
“Snowboarding is something that helps me keep pushing myself to be better and better. At work I try to carry that same mentality. If I don’t continually push myself to do things better, then someone else out there will and as a company we will lose.”
