IT LEADER, MIDDLE EAST AND AFRICA — Egypt
Always there to lend a helping hand.
Although Ehab is responsible for all IT activities in the Middle East and Africa regions, he has never forgotten where he started. At the helpdesk. And although he’s come a long way from helping colleagues who need a quick fix to a PC that just won’t work, he’s never given up his love of helping others get ahead.
“I like to teach people and transfer knowledge to others. I believe the only way to gain more responsibility is to delegate and teach others what you know.”
So when he spotted fresh talent in a new hire, he gave up much of his time and energy to ensure his colleague’s success.
“I devoted myself to transferring all the infrastructure/helpdesk knowledge I had. I made this happen by mapping his future at Energizer. I defined a new role for him and gave him credit for his work. I also pushed him to take an important IT certificate with the condition that he must pass all the exams. I was proud when he did that and now he is the IT contact person for the Middle East and Africa. I am very proud of this success story and I feel I did something for him and for the company.”
Ehab’s example shows how nurturing people’s talent is a key cornerstone of Energizer’s commitment to exploring different paths.
