“It's not your parents’ Operations.”
- Chris C., VP, Playtex Operations, U.S.
If you think you know what to expect from our Operations group, think again. Today’s Operations is a rapidly developing function that is much more interconnected with other departments than in years past. This evolution stems from our belief that to make an effective product, you have to understand the entire supply chain.
Maximizing efficiency.
Our Operations group is designed to ensure plants produce exactly what is needed – no more and no less. We know reducing waste wherever possible has a direct effect on profits so greater efficiency is our goal at all times. To achieve this, we put a strong emphasis on cross-functional communication, from Sales and Marketing to Account-level execution. We also focus on all “Four M’s” which involves optimizing efficiency by closely monitoring Man, Machine, Materials, and Methods.
Expanded exposure.
The Operations role here is fluid and provides exposure to all facets of the supply chain.[PAGEBREAK]
In fact, it is not uncommon for the Operations team to travel to accounts, or to headquarters to talk to Sales and Distribution people. Technical colleagues in Operations will spend lots of time partnering with the Research, Development & Engineering team.
You will also have a greater diversity of responsibilities including managing your inventory, your costs, your people, communications and more. And while you will be hired for a specific skill set, your success depends largely on being able to work with peers towards a common goal.
So if you are one of those rare individuals who possess a mixture of technical competence, interpersonal excellence and a constant drive to challenge the status quo, get in touch. Your dream career is just waiting to be assembled.
